A medical examination for a residence permit is a health diagnosis designed to exclude a foreign citizen from dangerous diseases and infections that pose a threat to Russian citizens. The corresponding certificate based on the results of the examination is attached to the documents submitted to the Federal Migration Service when applying for a residence permit in the region of the Russian Federation where the foreigner plans to reside (valid for 3 months).
In addition to the basic diagnosis of infectious pathologies and mental health, the medical examination for a residence permit includes testing for the use of narcotic and psychotropic drugs. For these purposes, a urine test is performed to determine the fact of drug use within 2 weeks after the last use.
