Medical commission at the Federal Migration Service or FMS (Office of the Federal Migration Service) – examination of migrants to obtain the right to live and/or work in Russia. The commission is carried out by medical organizations; based on its results, the foreigner is provided with a package of documents, which is transferred to the Federal Migration Service.
A medical examination at the Federal Migration Service is required for foreign citizens in cases of registration:
- Temporary residence permits in the Russian Federation
- Residence permit in the Russian Federation
- Work permits in the Russian Federation (labor patent)
A medical examination of a foreigner is necessary to assess his physical and mental condition, exclude drug addiction, sexually transmitted diseases, HIV infection, tuberculosis and other dangerous pathologies that pose a danger to society.
